This sconce is directly inspired by the chandelier on display at the Hermitage Palace in St. Petersburg. The finesse of its ornamentation makes it a lovely piece. Each of the 4 curved arms is adorned with oak leaves and supports a flat dish on which a wick provides light. In the center, a rectilinear candlestick dominates the whole. The alternating curves and rectilinear movements create a balanced composition, rich in detail.
