A magnificent and very unique Louis XV style chandelier (19th century) in bronze and crystal with eighteen lights. At the bottom is a solid crystal ball under a fine gilt bronze foliate finial. At the base are elegant gilded bronze movements with sprays adorned with beautiful clear crystals in the shape of a teardrop. The unusually shaped cage features lower and upper rows of striking square cut crystals and beautiful inverted floral candle cups with hanging bulbs. Above are additional cut crystal pendants and the finely pierced foliate upper crown centering additional internal bulbs.
