Typical of the 18th century, this model is very impressive due to the number and quality of the pendants covering it. Composed of a gilded bronze base, this chandelier has 24 arms, spread over four levels along the central shaft. The arms, decorated with chiseled plant motifs, echo the shape of those on Giovanni Battista Metellino’s chandelier at the Château de Maisons Laffitte (dating from 1725). The arms are adorned with crystal cups and Versailles-style crystal pendants. The latter are used on all levels of the chandelier, without weighing down the overall effect thanks to their transparency.
